Account & Profile
How do I create an account?
Visit our app and sign up with your email address. You will be guided through creating your profile, setting your pronouns, identity, and preferences. It takes just a few minutes to get started.
I forgot my password
On the login page, tap "Forgot password?" and enter your email address. You will receive a link to reset your password. If you do not receive the email, check your spam folder or contact us at info@equal.love.
How do I update my profile?
Go to your profile settings to update your photos, bio, interests, pronouns, and preferences at any time. Changes are saved automatically.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account from your account settings. Deletion is permanent and all your data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. If you need assistance, email us.
Privacy & Security
Who can see my profile?
Only other registered users can see your profile. You control what information is visible. Your sexual orientation and gender identity are used for matching but are protected with the highest level of data security.
Is my identity data safe?
Absolutely. Information about your sexual orientation, gender identity, and pronouns is classified as special category data under the GDPR and receives the strongest protection. It is encrypted, access-restricted, and never shared with third parties. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.
Can I hide my profile temporarily?
Yes. You can pause your profile visibility from your settings. Your account and data remain intact, but you will not appear in other users' matches or search results.
How do I block someone?
Open the profile of the person you want to block and select the block option. Blocked users can no longer see your profile, send you messages, or interact with you in any way. You can unblock users from your settings at any time.
Matching & Connections
How does matching work?
Our matching algorithm considers your identity, preferences, interests, values, and location to find compatible people. You receive curated daily matches rather than endless swiping. The more you use Equal Love, the better your matches become.
What are speed dates?
Speed dates are timed conversations with matched users. It is a fun, low-pressure way to get to know someone. Photos gradually become clearer during the conversation, so you connect based on personality first.
Why am I not getting matches?
Make sure your profile is complete with photos, a bio, and your preferences set. A complete profile significantly increases your visibility. Also consider expanding your age range or distance preferences.
Reporting & Safety
How do I report someone?
You can report a user directly from their profile or from a conversation. Select the reason for your report and add any details that help us investigate. Visit our Report page for full instructions.
What happens after I report someone?
Our team reviews every report. Depending on the severity, we may issue a warning, temporarily suspend the account, or permanently ban the user. You will not be identified to the person you reported.
Someone is threatening me
If you feel you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services. Then report the user on Equal Love and email us at info@equal.love with details. We take threats extremely seriously and will act swiftly.
Credits & Payments
Is Equal Love free to use?
Equal Love offers core features for free, including creating a profile, receiving matches, and basic messaging. Premium features and additional credits are available for purchase.
How do credits work?
Credits are used for premium actions like sending extra messages, boosting your profile visibility, or unlocking special features. You receive free daily credits and can purchase more if needed.
