We recognise that information about your sexual orientation, gender identity, and romantic preferences is among the most sensitive data you can share. Under the GDPR, this data is classified as special category data (Article 9) and receives the highest level of protection.
- Explicit consent: We only process your identity data with your explicit, informed, and freely given consent. You can withdraw this consent at any time.
- Encryption at rest and in transit: All identity-related data is encrypted using industry-standard protocols both in storage and during transmission.
- Access restriction: Only essential systems access your identity data for matching purposes. Our staff cannot view this data without a justified reason.
- No third-party sharing: Your sexual orientation, gender identity, and pronoun preferences are never shared with third parties, advertisers, or data brokers.
- Right to erasure: When you delete your account, all identity-related data is permanently and irreversibly removed from our systems.
3. What Data We Collect
We collect data to provide you with a safe, personalised dating experience:
- Account data: name, email address, date of birth, password (hashed).
- Profile data: photos, bio, interests, icebreaker answers, location preferences.
- Identity data (special category): sexual orientation, gender identity, pronouns, relationship preferences.
- Usage data: interactions within the app, match preferences, communication metadata.
- Technical data: IP address, device type, browser, operating system, anonymised analytics.
4. Legal Bases for Processing
- Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): to provide our dating services to you.
- Explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR): for processing special category data such as sexual orientation and gender identity.
